VA Outreach - ASSISTING THE HOMELESS VETERAN

Goodwill Industries of Southeast Iowa is a non-for-profit organization working to advance the social and economic independence of people who experience barriers to employement.

To achieve this purpose, Goodwill provides a variety of skills training, employment, job placement, and support services.

Our Employment Services Office in the Quad City Area has been assisting homeless veterans since November of 2003. Working with Goodwill veterans train for jobs and find employment. Our office is located in the Professional Arts Building on Locust Street, Davenport, Iowa.

Skills Training

Employment Specialists will assist you in assessing your employment strengths; work skills nees and provide you with basic skills for job search. Employment skills training may occur in such areas as computer/clerical, retail, materials handling, or warehouse operations. Participants have the opportunity to learn and get paid (minimum wage) for retail internship while training in Goodwill's retail store.

Qualified homeless veterans, honorably discharged, and medically qualified
