Career Connections prepares high school students to become productive members of the Iowa workforce and assists area businesses in hiring, training and successfully employing capable staff. The Career Connections program works with students over a two year period to prepare them for successful employment through:

  • Skill and interest assessments
  • Career exploration through job shadow, informational interviews and short-term work experiences
  • Forming a career goal based on their experiences and matched to their skills and interests
  • On-the-job training and internships
  • Specialized training through company, industry or community college classes
  • Job placement in a position matching student skills and employer needs
  • Follow along and consultation for the student and the business to foster success on the job
